🧘🏽Unshakable
Imagine a world where you have irrefutable confidence. The type of confidence that you have the courage to go up to stranger and make a new friend or have faith to keep your hard earned cash in a turbulent market.
Unshakable by Tony Robbins is a fantastic book that covers everything you need to know if/when you achieve financial success. He goes in depth on the mindset, the power of compounding, how to pick the right advisors to handle your wealth, and how to reap the benefits of a bear market. Your best bet is pick up a copy and hold on to it for when you achieve your dreams.
Here are my take aways…
💵 Value
#1️⃣ Control the Control-ables
In the beginning of the book, Tony stresses the importance and power of the mind. Among the many golden nuggets he shared with his readers, the biggest take away I got was to control the control-ables.
We live in a very tumultuous time in history with pandemics, wars, widespread fear, and much more. But in all actuality how much of that can you really control? Close to if not, none. We have the power to chose how we look at life; what ever perspective that may be. And in terms of this book it was to control how you react to obstacles.
Often times many people pull out of their investments in the midst of recessions becuase of fear mongering. But as I learned, when there is a recession that is the time to double down on the investment because it at a discount.
Again, don’t forget that you control the lens in which you view your life becuase you control your actions, words, and habits. Think critically and control what you can.
#2️⃣ You cant loose if you don’t give up (pull out of the market)
Tony wrote this book in response to the 50 financial geniuses (all of which were billionaires) he had the privilege to interview. He described out of all the of the advice he received, there was one common theme. They never gave up (sold their shares in stocks).
We live in a shiny object society. Advertisers have trained us that when we see something new, we get excited and go after that new thing. Same goes for trials. We go through something tough and jump from one ship to the next. And I am guilty of it myself!
I came across this quote that is astonishingly fitting for this and it was “The man who loves walking will walk further than the man who loves the destination.”
What has made any one of those people billionaires get to where they are today is that they loved walking. Weather it was in rain, sleet, or snow. When the market was in Spring they were still walking. When it was in the cold bitter winter, they were still walking. They recognized that the patterns of the market ALWAYS go upward no mater how long they are in a dry season. The only way they loose is if they sell. They only way for you to loose is to quit.
Dont stop walking.
